This tool is designed to assist in preliminarily identifying potential International Building Code (IBC) 2021 construction types based on common building parameters: Occupancy, Height, Number of Stories, and Floor Area.

Data Source: The data used by this tool is derived from the following tables in the IBC 2021:

Stories: Table 504.4 (Allowable Number of Stories Above Grade Plane)
Height: Table 504.3 (Allowable Building Height in Feet)
Area: Table 506.2 (Allowable Area Factor)
